BOTW ’s history of Hyrule is told primarily through vague legends, most of which are passed to Link by Impa after he loses his memories. As such, the legend of the First Great Calamity 10,000 years before the game’s events create a lot of confusion about BOTW ’s story and the overarching Zelda timeline. Either BOTW must take place more than 10,000 years after every other event on the official timeline so far, or the First Great Calamity occurred during some earlier era of the timeline that has yet to be revealed. If the Zelda theory about the Zonai tribe’s identity as the ancient Interlopers is true, however, then it’s possible that learning the full story of their mysterious disappearance may reveal the truth of Hyrule’s history. This outcome would, however, introduce yet another paradox to **The Legend of Zelda ** ‘s timeline — Ganondorf is first introduced in Ocarina of Time , meaning there would have to be justification for Calamity Ganon’s appearance in the Interloper War/First Great Calamity in an earlier
Link and Zelda are obvious must-haves that possibly do not even deserve a spot on the list. Not only are Link and Zelda both shown in the trailers for Tears of the Kingdom , but they are also the main characters in the series. However, it is still quite possible that their roles could see some changes from the norm in this new story. Mainly because Zelda won’t actually be a princess this time around, and it will be interesting to see if Nintendo leans into that change in Hyrule’s leadership and what ripple effects that could cre
Impa has been a steadily returning character throughout much of The Legend of Zelda , although in Breath of the Wild she was 120 years old. She played an essential role in BOTW by assisting Link in recovering his lost memories and telling him the story of Ganon. Over the years, she has been an important character as a bodyguard to Princess Zelda and even fought valiantly alongside Link in the events of Hyrule Warriors . If Purah’s research could be used on Impa, she could in fact prove to be a very powerful character in Tears of the Kingd
The quests are the primary objectives in BOTW , and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to complete all of them. Half of the challenge is simply finding them all, since there’s very little indication of who has a quest to give and who doesn’t, and quest givers can be found in the most random and unexpected of places. Even after players manage to find all the quests, they still will need to put in quite a bit of legwork in order to complete them. Some particularly difficult quests involve gathering extremely rare ingredients, or facing off against enemies that can easily vanquish them if they’re unprepared, or fulfilling incredibly specific or rare conditions. Whatever the reason, players can easily leave a few quests behind in even their most thorough of playthroughs, so it’s worth doing a few sweeps of Hyrule before TOTK comes
The title reveal trailer for **The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ** has some references to the Zonai, leaving hints that this extinct tribe might have a role in the story. Even in Breath of the Wild , the Zonai never appear beyond traces of the tribe that have been left behind. However, it seems that players might learn more about the Zonai and their relationship with Hyrule in Tears of the Kingd
When the Goddess was reincarnated as Zelda in Skyward Sword , she cleansed herself in two sacred springs to recover her divine memories and power. Notably, the Skyview Spring and Earth Spring tucked away in the Faron and Eldin regions have been theorized to be BOTW ’s Spring of Courage and Spring of Power, respectively. Instead of a Spring of Wisdom to complete the «Triforce,» however, Skyward Sword’s Lanayru Desert housed the Temple of Time instead, which allowed Zelda and Impa to pass back in time to the Era of the Goddess so zelda tears of the Kingdom korok seeds could recall her divin
As far as what type of culture the Zonai had, it seems that they valued power and enjoyed war. The item description of the Barbarian Helm mentions » an ancient warlike tribe from the Faron Region ,» and this can be assumed to refer to the Zonai as the majority of their ruins are found in Faron. It’s possible that their warlike nature led to the Zonai becoming a lost tribe in Breath of the Wild , but since none of the tribe remain, players have to look at the ruins to find clues about why this tribe vanis
Tears of the Kingdom ‘s trailers contain references to the ancient Zonai tribe, whose ruins litter BOTW ‘s southeastern Faron region. This ancient warlike tribe is said to have mysteriously vanished, leaving the citizens of Hyrule to whisper about their strange and powerful magic, according to the Creating a Champion art book released in 2018. According to Twilight Princess , there were many years of peace after Hyrule was established thanks to the power of its Triforce. However, as word of the Triforce spread, a group of powerful sorcerers known only as the Interlopers attempted to gain control of The Legend of Zelda ‘s Sacred Realm . In order to stop their plot, the Goddesses had them sealed away in the Twilight Realm along with the Fused Shadow created by their ma
