September 2022’s Nintendo Direct gave fans an exciting new glimpse of the sequel to The Legend of zelda Crossover: Breath of the Wild . The game, which fans have been calling Breath of the Wild 2 , finally got its official name: Tears of the King

As Link explores the BOTW sequel’s transformed skies , he will be able to use at least three abilities that have been shown in trailers so far. There are other new items for Link to use, such as a large device that shoots flames, but this looks like a temporary weapon and not something that he will have access to all the time. Though it’s not confirmed, it would appear that at least some of Link’s powers comes from his new arm, which could mean that it will serve a purpose similar to BOTW ‘s Sheikah Slate. This was shown for only a few seconds in the latest trailer, where Link landed on it from a skydive and gently glided over Hyrule. Unlike the other powers revealed so far, there’s no evidence that this is connected to Link’s new arm. It also doesn’t look like it’s of Sheikah make, as it’s quite different from their other automatons such as the Guardians and Divine Bea

While Calamity Ganon was a fantastic foe, a weakened humanoid Ganondorf would be a fun villain for Link to conquer again. It would also be interesting to see a Zelda game where Ganon exists but isn’t the main antagonist. Perhaps Ganondorf appears as the vestiges of Calamity Ganon, but the true antagonist is Demise or a new

The new Tears of the Kingdom trailer came with other things besides hints of time travel; a mechanical mount that Link will fly through the air, a mysterious glowing mural on a mountaintop, and smaller details like strange capsules on his belt and footage of him climbing roots. All of it is far from confirmation of time travel, but it does pose interesting questions. The idea of traveling back to Hyrule 10,000 years ago is an exciting one, and could make Breath of the Wild ‘s sequel even more fun than it already appeared to be. In addition, since the hero in Breath of the Wild ‘s mural telling the story of that battle 10,000 years ago resembles Ganon, it’s possible that he isn’t the threat that emerged then and therefore not the main villain of Tears of the Kingdom if it does take place in that time. Instead, the damaged state of the Master Sword may point to the real antagonist: Demise, the villain of Skyward Sword , who was sealed within the sword, and whose hatred is the source of Ganon’s Malice. Like almost everything else about Breath of the Wild ‘s sequel, it may be pure speculation for now, but Demise returning in Tears of the Kingdom _ could be a great plot twist — one that can bring not only _BOTW but the entire Zelda series full circle — and a way to show Ganon as something other than a vill
